I'll Have the Bucket Size Please

When at the boardwalk, one must always get boardwalk fries.
When at Ocean City, one must always go to Thrashers.
When at Thrashers, one must always get the large bucket size of fries.

When holding a ginormus bucket of hot boardwalk fries, one must always dump a bunch of apple cider vinager and salt on said bucket.

Yum.

Between three of us this was still too many deliciously salty, vinegary, french fried potato sticks of heart attack happiness.

Thanksgiving at the Beach

I am in Ocean City, Maryland right now over Thanksgiving vacation. Yay, the beach--even if it is a freezing cold beach. The roar of the waves and boardwalk shops, however, comfort our temperature woes.

We watched a few crazy people stick their toes in the water. Followed by their whole feet, ankles, calves, knees, and finally an unexpected wave soaked their pants completetly. Haha. I bet they were sorry they got so close to the water.

Unfortunately this "holiday" for me means working on papers that are due next week. At all the hotels we canvased, I had to ask, "and you have free WiFi, right?" so I can do my research. Happy Thanksgiving to me.

Spring Break

Whoo. It's officially spring break for me. There will be no bikinis, beaches, fruity drinks with umbrellas, sunshine, or anything else that is normally associated with the college phenomenon known as Spring Break. I will be hanging out at home trying to get stuff done--namely ceramics and an American Lit paper (not to say that I have ever participated in the common notion of spring break revelry). Hopefully though, I will have the chance to do something fun. We shall see.

But in good news, or rather really good news, I got a call this morning that I answered with a grogy hello. It was a professor from Boston University who was on the application review committee telling me that I have been accepted to the Department of Communication at BU. Whooo. I am quite pleased.

Meandering Thanksgiving

Seagull on the beachWe had intended to go to Wildwood, NJ for Thanksgiving but when we got there, we quickly found that it is abandoned during the winter. There are no hotels, no entertainment, and no people. It is a deserted town.

So what did we do instead? We drove further up the coast to Atlantic City. It was actually a lot fun. It was not the Thanksgiving we were expecting, but perhaps better.

The seagull in that photo is from the one day we spent in Brigatine on the beach too. It was really nice that day--perfect weather.

My Italian SaladThis Thanksgiving wins as the most unusual meal ever. We had a leftover salad and bread from an Italian Restaurant the night before, travel snacks, and coffee from Wawa's. While you may be feeling sorry for me at this point of your reading, don't be. That salad was perhaps the best one I've ever eaten in my entire life and I didn't want to throw it away, just because the next day was Thanksgiving. We were still thankful. And, we ate turkey at the Hilton on Saturday night anyway.
