What? Is there a whole flock of birds in there?

Bird There's this little robin that lives in the pine tree beside where I park my car. Everyday she has a chirping fit as I walk by. She acts as if I'm going to steal her eggs away and jump on them or something.

I try to tell her that I'm a human, and her nest doesn't mean anything to me, but she still hasn't gotten the idea.

When I went to my car today, some bird had done a real number on my windshield. There was so much bird doo splattered across it that I could barely see out. I turned on the windshield wiper make it go away, but that only made the white and rainbow goo smear across my entire windshield. Gross. Now I have dried bird doo stains streaked across my car.

Pleasant. Real pleasant.

My What a Pretty Tree

Did you have a happy Earth Day yesterday?

The Weeping Cherry Tree in my front yard is gorgeous. Warmer weather, flowering plants (especially pink trees), and rainy afternoons are perhaps my favorite part of spring.

My least favorite parts of spring are the new emergence of spiders, bugs, and thousand leggers. They start to "spring" up and I despise them. They must die. I have a closet arsenal of Raid. Bah ha ha, little buggies.

Art Marathon Followed by a Bad Day

Friday night was the art marathon at Ship. I got literally no sleep. Man, Saturday was a bad day. Bad all around. Everything you could imagine going wrong, did.

As I already said, I didn't sleep because of the art marathon. I felt like I might have had permanent lobster claw fingers and a hermit crab back from throwing on the wheel for so long. (The highlight of my evening though, probably had to be seeing my professor throw with his feet. It was strange, and yet he was so good at it too. It actually looked like a pot). So to start the day off I got no sleep.

Then, in the morning I went to plant trees but I couldn't find the rest of the group. I drove around Calendonia for 45 minutes looking for cars with Shippensburg parking stickers or people carrying shovels. I found neither.

And then my car ran out of gas. The steering wheel locked up and glided into the parking lot at the park. I called my dad to come get me, but he was at work so I called my boyfriend. He came and rescued me with a gallon of gas. Then he said he'd follow me to the nearest gas station.

That was sweet of him, but then on the way out he smashed into my car. Bam. And then bam again. Twice. A ranger saw it so he called the police. The police questioned us forever, because he thought that my boyfriend was mad at me and he purposefully ran into me. He kept asking me, are you sure you two aren't in an argument? Was he upset that he had to come bring you gas? Has he ever hurt you? And on and on. I don't think the police officer believed me, and he was ready to cart him off to prison or something.

Then, after all that I didn't get to home and go to sleep. I had to go some awards thing that my parents wanted me to attend. I just wanted the day to be freakin' over!

O Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree I absolutely love my grandma's Christmas tree. It is so quaint and endearing. The colored lights make me feel nostalgic. She sets it up in a large antique basin/sink structure so people can see it from the front window.

And I love my mom's Christmas tree. After dumping the the old one last year, my parents got a new, 'cheating' tree, as in the lights come already installed in the fake green piney branches. Let's just say it made my dad happy as it practically eliminated his job. My mom, nevertheless, laments about how we are all party poopers and won't bother to help her with the decorating anymore. We tell her to just not put it up then, and that makes her sad so she ends up making it look like a Martha Stewart tree year after year. Her tree standards are just too high for the rest of us.

Finals and Icicles

winter tree icilclesI'm done with finals!! I was afraid I'd never make it, but yay, I'm done. I had my last one this morning in English Renaissance Drama. I'm hoping for straight A's but I fear an A- in Conservation of Natural Resources. It's always the gen. eds. They always rip down my GPA, because I get so bogged down by my real classes. Grrrr.

Now I can focus whole-heartedly on grad school applications. I've sifted through my choices to 7 schools. I'm hoping to cut one more, but I'm not sure which one is gonna get the axe yet.

I noticed how beautiful the trees were as I was driving home today. Then I snapped a pic of the tree dripping with icicles in my back yard with one sad, brown, lonely leaf. Hold on little guy, it's only what?, 4 more months till spring thaw.

Weeping Cherry Tree

The tree in our front yard is sooooo pretty, despite the fact my dad cut off all the bottom branches so he can mow the grass underneath. The poor tree looks half-naked, he he.

The only negative thing about a weeping cherry tree is the mess it makes. My car always gets covered in a rainstorm of tiny pink petals that stick to the windshield. I just wish those little boogers would stay on year round.
